Satanique Samba Trio (2)

Scroll down for English version

ENGLISH

Avant-garde punk jazz, absurdism, theatricality, psychedelics, and nice and crazy.
Still

Satanique Samba Trio is one of the nicest and most exciting groups in the Brazilian alternative scene. They do not play samba and it is not a trio.
Their cheerful and brilliant music is entirely focused on the deconstruction of the popular clichés of Brazilian folk music. They turn it upside down, or take elements apart, and then make a new version of it, reminiscent of the craziness of avant-garde pop musicians like Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa. ”I wrote in a previous blog in 2017 .

This is all still true!
On Friday, September 13, Satanique Samba Trio released a new EP: Mais Bad
It is a conceptual continuation of their vinyl release ”Mó Bad (2015). Again 10 very short pieces, which – in their own words – were created by their “hunger for aesthetic deconstruction.”
This is what they say about it themselves:All instrumentals on this 10 short track vinyl have been recorded with a cheap cell phone from the early 2000’s. It is meant to sound desperate, harsh and absolutely surreal. A little over the top, maybe? Yeah, but hey: that’s just how a country in crisis should look and sound like. Right?
