Keller’s 10 is een 10-koppige band uit Zwitserland, opgericht door Beat Keller in 2006.
Keller zelf is gitarist, multi-instrumentalist, componist en dirigent.
Zeven blazers: rieten, trompetten, trombones, tuba, piano, bas en drums. (Keller zelf speelt niet mee). De band houdt van eclectisch muziek maken, en stopt er ook graag wat humor in.Op de nieuwe CD staat ook een korte versie van Louis Andriessen’s Workers Union. Maar toch vooral veel eigen werk.

CD Hipsters Gone Ballistic van Spinifex quintet (trytone records)
Hele strakke, onregelmatige structuren, heftige grooves en uitgebreide vrije impro.
Spinifex Quintet is een band waar alles draait om dwingende grooves, heftige contrasten en uitdagende improvisaties. Een mix van jazzcore, metal en andere eigentijdse Westerse muziek. Maar daaronder liggen oude Turkse en Indiase ritmes. Resultaat is vaak heftige muziek, complex, wilde improvisaties. Van de luisteraar wordt concentratie gevraagd en geen angst voor volume en dynamiek. Door dat alles is de muziek van Spinifex soms ook vermoeiend.
Drijvende krachten achter Spinifex Quintet zijn trompettist Gijs Levelt, bekend van Amsterdam Klezmer Band, en saxofonist/klarinettist Tobias Klein. Hun muziek is beïnvloed door karnatische muziek uit Azië en door typisch Westerse stromingen als progressieve metal. Hun nieuwe werk omschrijven ze zelf als ‘extremely tight irregular structures and extensive free improvising.’
Drummer en astrofysicus Philipp Moser werd bekend met de Nederlandse vooruitstrevende metalband Cilice. Gitarist Jasper Stadhouders is toonaangevend in de Amsterdamse improvisatie-underground, onder meer als lid van Cactus Truck. De Portugees-Rotterdamse bassist Gonçalo Almeida schakelt moeiteloos tussen een mooi afgeronde klank en rauwe elektrische vervorming. CD Ode Portrait van Marco Santos (Sintoma records)
Ode Portrait noemt hij een ‘acoustisch schilderij, resultaat van ervaringen in en perspectieven op het leven, met originele composities met een melodisch accent.’
Marco Santos is een Portugese, in Nederland woonachtige percussionist, drummer en componist. Hij studeerde aan de Lissabon High School of Music (2006), later in Den Haag (bachelor jazz drums) en Rotterdam (Codarts) (master Wereldmuziek, compositie, percussie en drums) Het kwartet bestaat uit 2 Portugese en 2 Nederlandse musici: MS – slagwerk; Laurens Hoppe – piano; Boris Oud – bas en Rui Silva – gitaar. Moderne jazz, maar overstijgt daarin het cliché niet

Pianist Edwin Berg brengt binnenkort een nieuwe CD uit:’Vuurproef’,een album-plus-boek, met gesproken woord op muziek.
Poëzie en performance van Serge van Duijnhoven, soundscapes door DJ FreddB en live piano improvisaties en composities van en door Berg. Concerten in Nederland en België o.a.12 maart premiere Brakke Grond, Amsterdam, 13 maart Groningen De Puddingfabriek en 15 maart Literair theater Branoul Den Haag
Edwin Berg maakt meestal lyrische muziek. Hij houdt van jazz en geimproviseerde muziek vanwege de spontane en urgente energie die het heeft. Een andere band van hem is GIZMO, waar pianogrooves, gitaarsolo’s, polyritmische lagen en lyrische romantiek samenkomen

Keller’s 10 is a 10-piece band from Switzerland, founded by Beat Keller in 2006.
Keller himself is guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and conductor.
Seven horns: reeds, trumpets, trombones, tuba, piano, bass and drums. (Keller himself does not play). The band likes to make eclectic music and is not afraid of some humor.
On the new CD there is a short version of Louis Andriessen’s Workers Union. But mostly own work is being played.

Spinifex Quintet is a new band that is all about compelling grooves, violent contrasts and challenging improvisations. A mix of jazz core, metal and other contemporary Western music. But underneath are old Turkish and Indian rhythms. This often results in heavy music, complex, wild improvisations. The listener is asked for concentration and no fear of volume and dynamics Thereby he music of spinifex is sometimes trying .
The driving forces behind Spinifex Quintet arre trumpeter Gijs Levelt (Amsterdam Klezmer Band) and saxophonist/clarinetist Tobias Klein Their music is influenced by Carnatic music from Asia and typical Western movements such as progressive metal. Their new work, they describe themselves as ” extremely tight irregular structures and extensive free improvising .”
Drummer and astrophysicist Philipp Moser became familiar with the Dutch progressive metal band Cilice. Guitarist Jasper Stadhouders is a leading figure in the Amsterdam improvisation underground, a.o. in Cactus Truck. The Portuguese-Rotterdam bassist Gonçalo Almeida effortlessly switches between a beautiful rounded tone and raw power distortion.

Marco Santos is a percussionist, drummer and composer having his base now in Holland.
He did his first bachelor in Classic percussion in Lisbon High School of Music (2006), after a few years went to Holland where he did his second bachelor in Jazz drums at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague (2011), and his Master in the renowned international academy of Rotterdam (CodArts) on the field of Word music, composition, percussion & drums.
‘Ode Portrait’ is an audible picture, result of distinctive experiences and perspectives of life, which presents original compositions with a melodic accent.
The quartet consists of 2 Portugese and 2 Dutch musicians: MS – slagwerk; Laurens Hoope – piano; Boris Oud – bass en Rui Silva – guitar.
