Is het kunst, kitsch of camp? Erika Stucky lapt alle regels aan haar laars met haar buitengewone performances.
De Amerikaans-Zwitserse zangeres Erika Stucky zingt, fluit, blaast, imiteert instrumenten en jodelt. Een superieure entertainer, die grenzen tussen kunst, kitsch en camp doet vervagen.
Ze bestrijkt een groot en eclectisch gebied van muzikale genres die gemengd worden: jazz, pop, folk, jodelen, blues, rock, gebracht als een soort varieté, met een theatrale performance.
Een optreden van Stucky zal je lang bijblijven. Ze neemt je voor zich in met haar brutale, extravagante, experimentele, en toch ook weer intieme en persoonlijke aanpak.
Erika is legendarisch om haar bizarre pop- en jazz-covers. Ze speelt mini-accordeon en zorgt voor spanning met zelfgemaakte video-projecties. Spidergirl is de naam van haar cartooneske nieuwe personage én haar band met multi-instrumentalist Terry Edwards, die eerder samenwerkte met Tom Waits, Nick Cave en PJ Harvey. slechts 1 keer in Nederland te zien dit najaar: 10-10 Bimhuis
Erika Stucky werd in San Fransisco geboren uit Zwitserse ouders.. Haar familie verhuisde terug naar Zwitserland, Erika ging zang studeren in Paris en San Fransisco. In 1985 richtte ze haar eerste eigen groep op: The Sophisticrats. Later was ze solozangeres in George Gruntz’ Concert Jazz Band.
In 1997 ziet Mrs Bubble & Bones het licht, waarmee ze heel veel zal touren.

The American-Swiss vocalist Erika Stucky sings, flutes, makes all kind of noises, imitates instruments and yodels.
A superior entertainer, who makes the boundaries between art, kitsch and camp disappear. She covers a wide and eclectic range of blended musical genres like jazz, pop, folk, yodeling, blues, rock, as a kind of Varieté, with a theatrical performance.
A performance of Stucky will not easily be forgotten. She enchants you with her brutal, extravagant, experimental, and yet again intimate and personal approach.

Erika Stucky was born in San Fransisco from Swiss parents. Her family moved back to Switzerland, Erika went studying vocals in Paris and San Francisco. In 1985 she founded her first group: The Sophisticrats. Later, she was a soloist in George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band.
In 1997 Mrs. Bubble & Bones sees the light, with which she did a lot of touring.
