Aaron Parks wordt een ‘forward thinking’ pianist genoemd. Iemand die graag innovatief wil zijn en zich wil blijven ontwikkelen.
Zijn muziek is open, bedachtzaam, en heeft een kenmerkende persoonlijke handtekening.
Zijn spel is transparant, helder; iedere noot heeft een goede reden.
Op 30 april speelt hij met zijn trio in het Bimhuis in Amsterdam en presenteert daar het nieuwe album Find the Way. Aaron Parks – piano, Ben Street – bas, Billy Hart – drums

Jazz staat nooit stil! Parks muziek is onmiskenbaar moderne jazz, maar er zijn toch verschillende invloeden of liever invalshoeken in terug te horen: vocale jazz, filmmuziek, rock. Net als andere moderne jazzmusici integreert hij soms ook rock of hip hop-grooves in de muziek, bijvoorbeeld door het gebruik van complexe drum ritmes.
Het titelnummer van zijn nieuwe album Find the Way ontdekte hij op een oud album van vocaliste Rosemary Clooney en arrangeur/componist Nelson Riddle: een romantische ballad met een niet zo voor de hand liggende melodie en akkoorden.

In 2008 bracht hij zijn eerste Blue Note album uit (Invisible Cinema). Later tekende hij bij het label ECM.

Aaron Parks speelde ook in de band James Farm met Joshua Redman. Hij woont in New York. Naam maakte hij al vanaf zijn 18e in de band van Terence Blanchard en als sideman bij o.a. Christian Scott, Gretchen Parlato en Kurt Rosenwinkel.
Daarnaast is hij te horen in verschillende film-soundtracks o.a. in films van  Spike Lee films

Op 30 april is het International Jazz Day, die gevierd wordt in 200 landen. Op die dag wordt de positieve grondslag van jazz benadrukt. Jazz als kunstvorm die wederzijds begrip en interculturele samenwerking bevordert.

Aaron Parks is called a ‘forward thinking’ pianist. Someone who wants to be innovative and aims for continuous development. His music is open, thoughtful, and has a distinctive personal signature. Parks plays with brigthness,  every note is being played for a good reason.

Jazz never stops moving! Parks music is unmistakably modern jazz, but there are various influences or rather angles of incidence: vocal jazz, film music, rock. The title track of his new album Find the Way Parks came across on an old album of singer Rosemary Clooney and arranger/composer Nelson Riddle: a romantic ballad with not so obvious melody and chords.
