Fijne akoestische free jazz

FUSK bracht onlangs zijn 4e album uit: The Jig is Up
Kasper Tom Christiansen (drums, composities), Tomasz Dąbrowski (trompet), Andreas Lang (bas), Rudi Mahall (basclarinet)

ENGLISH

Great acoustic free jazz

The musicians of FUSK are clearly well versed in the genre of free jazz: they can handle both structured and free forms of music. They are able to make free and sometimes complex jazz sound smooth and self-evident.
In the meantime improvising in different ways: both with solos on chords and scales and collective improv, and free-improv-without-rules. The improvisations always serve the whole of the music: these are not big Egos, who want to demonstrate their virtuosity.
Also the sound of the acoustic quartet is beautiful, well balanced, and indeed without any electrical input. The raw instrument sound that goes with the original free jazz does not really play a role here.
All of this, and also the line up of the quartet, naturally reminds of well-known free jazz groups such as the Ornette Coleman Quartet.
Does it sound retro? Maybe – but in the good sense of that word!
The quartet has existed for ten years now, hence the smooth going ensemble with playful ideas, lively changes. Upbeat, quiet, sometimes complex, but always light.

FUSK recently released his 4th album: The Jig is Up

Kasper Tom Christiansen (drums, composition), Tomasz Dąbrowski (trumpet), Andreas Lang (bass), Rudi Mahall (bassclarinet)

Danish drummer Kasper Tom Christiansen foudned this band, who, like many modern jazz musicians, knows and controls different genres and influences and gives his own twist to it.
Rudi Mahall you might call a free jazz veteran (Der Rote Bereich, collaborations with Alexander von Schlippenbach, Carlos Bica e.v.a.)

FUSK is on tour this spring, but mainly plays in Germany and Denmark.
