Louk Boudesteijn

ENGLISH VERSION
Eclectic, cinematic, a lot of hornplayers, beautifully arranged

CD Modern People (embrace recordings) is the second CD of Fullduplexx, band of trombonist/composer Louk Boudesteijn. The first CD “Waterboarding” focused on electro, funk, and rock with improvisation. The second one is different : quieter, longer, cinematic, eclectic; playing in larger combinations and also very small ones. Nevertheless, the funk-rock sound did not completely disappear. And some beautiful arrangements too.
Louk-BoudesteijnThe pieces you can listen to (above):

Black Smokers – a long quiet piece – where the additional instruments only come into play after a while and the band sounds like a rock big band.
Rodeo Clown – funky , with some nice irregularities therein .
12013: peaceful, with a feature for tenor sax and beautiful horns sounding in the background (flute!)
Dance Burlesque : a trio piece for trombone and guitar, complemented by rhythmic valves (by Mete Erker). Relaxed, bit like Latin. Ends with a whistled theme by the guitarist !

LB – trombone; Mete Erker – Tenor ; Ferhan Otay – guitar; Rein Goderfroy – keys; Michel sponsors – bass and Pim Dros – drums . A lot of guest musicians,. such as Tini Thomsen – baritone sax , Rob van de Wouw and Angelo Verploegen – trumpet , Miguel Boelens and Bart Wirtz – alto sax and Morris Kliphuis- french horn . So extra blowers all of which, play with Boudesteijn in NRJO.

By the way, full-duplex communication means that one can establish a two-way connection at the same time in which information is exchanged. From sender to receiver and from receiver to transmitter, like with the GSM .

Together with his lifelong musical companion Rob van de Wouw Louk has been initiating all kinds of musical projects like the B&W quintet and since 2004 the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra (since 2004) as well. First a big band; a few years ago a slightly smaller 13-piece jazz collective with a repertoire of classical/jazz, from pop to funk and dance to jazz. NRJO does regular projects with a guest musician (Last year guitarist Anton Goudsmit – see video aobove, this year cellist Ernst Reijseger ) Next to this Louk played/palys with The Special Request Horns , Paul van Kemenade Quintet  a.o.
